If I were to believe in past lives and reincarnation, I may reasonably conclude that in most of my past lives, I probably lived in a "good" manner; maybe even "altruistically." Maybe at some point I reached the state many would allude to as "enlightenment." Then, before I was born into this machine, I decided that my experience wouldn't be complete until I had explored the dark, sticky underbelly of life; the pain and hedonism, the sweeping gains followed by heart-numbing losses. It feels....good. Now I'm going to go shower and change, and go exploring some more.
