Sin City is the best movie EVER! Holy crap. Yesterday in general was a really nice one. I woke up at 11:30, went to my advising appt., which I later discovered was superfluous...it didn't help at all. Anyways, then I went to lunch with my friends, then we hit up the pool- it was fantastic pool weather. Then we decided to go see Sin City. I kinda wanted to see it, but, they being big comic book geeks (if this applies to you, I apologize), were super psyched. Thus the surprise that I liked the movie better than everyone else. O geez, it was SO good. It's the most visually stimulating movie I've ever seen, and the sexiest movie I've ever seen. The special effects were Amaziiiiiiiiiiiiiing. I would reccomend it to anybody. That being said, the other girl who went with us hated it. Gore is not her thing. She's a theater major, hence, her favorite thing to do is sing songs from "Footloose", "Cabaret", and "Wicked". Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not her kind of movie. I've been on IMDB all morning trying to figure out which segment of the movie Quentin Tarentino guest-directed, but I haven't been able to find anything.
To make up for the fabulous day I had yesterday, today will be all work and no play....it makes Franki a dull girl, but Franki needs a diploma. Hehe, that funny because one of my assignments for my Kubrick film class is to write a paper on the Shining.

My issues with Sin City were this; I didn't like the way the plot came together, too much left out. I would have liked to see the stories have more interaction. I won't ruin it for folks that haven't seen it yet by explaining what I mean. The dick smashing, ripping, kicking and hitting got really redundant. The acting was almost sarcastic. While I can admit it was very stylized film, the artsy cinematography was ripped off from Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (all though I will give you that Sin City was infinitely sexier). So now we have two movies that had very creative and stylized cinematography that sucked! But that's just my opinion!
