The first step in my journey to self discovery was to explore my love of comic books. Since the age of 8 comic books have always had a place in my life. When 7 girlss said no chance in hell they would go with me to the prom. The trip to comic book store helped pass the pain. When 4 guys held me down in the middle of class and beat me in front of the teacher. Comics were once again helping me over come my emotional pain.
After comic con a friendship had ended. It was a sad moment at a point when life should have been great. My plan was to bury my pain in comic book walk about. Today I drove around Houston buying books that interest me. My first stop was half price books. I felt the stress sort of just vanish from my body. The chance to spend time digging through comic book boxes put me in a better mood. I was able to pick up some really great titles for under 10.00 dollars.

Next step was too visiting my local comic book story. My local comic book store is my idea of heaven. A room full of long boxes and all the time to read. After catching up I made some purchases. It was time to head off to another half price books.

This part was the rare find of the day. Joss Wedon is one of all time favorite writers. I spent my youth watching firefly, Rosanne, angel, and Buffy. I found an all most complete run of fray. For a total of 8 dollars I was on cloud 9

My last stop was at a new comic book store. It was nice to see a new place. The owners and store manger were nice. I was able to pick up a run of gates of gothem. Today! Journey taught me that I would shy away from making an emotional connection with a person and would rather read a comic book. It a puzzling discovery.
