Hello everyone! Lots to tell, little time to type. So I will fly as fast as my fingers can take me.
So, I got a job at Atomic Tattoos in Tampa and I showed up, met with the guy, cleaned up their shop (which by the way was disgustingly dirty), and got my schedule for the week. I asked the guy after HE wrote my schedule out for me "Do you need a copy?" He said. "No, I'll remember it." Let's make a long story short. I go home, try to fill out some IRS paperwork, get nowhere because they were doing matinece on the site for four days. I call him and tell him, I can't file until Monday. He says ok and not to come in until it gets file. I explained the entire situation to him. So I say, OK I'll see you on Monday. To which he says "No don't come in on Monday because I won't be there and I don't want you tattooing unless I'm there." I say, "Um ok, Tuesday?" (Which he had me marked down for not working. He had me not working for three days except for the Monday that he told me not to come in. So, he says "Yeah Tuesday".
I show up on Tuesday and he gets right up in my face, sweating and nasty, and says "You're fired." I asked him why, he didn't respond. I asked him again, nothing. Finally I said "What exactly is it you think I did?"
He said, "You didn't come to work."
Wait, what?
Shaking my head in disgust I simply pack up my thing, say "nice meeting you all", and leave. No way was I going to stay around and explain to him that he was mistaken because when it just comes right down to it: I don't want to work with people like that in the first place. I mean, that kind of of attitude over a simple mistake that he could have just asked me about.... I just don't see the need.
I left there, determined. Stopped at another shop, was given the owners number. He met with me and we had a nice chat. He was a really nice guy. He looked over my recent work and said he thought I was too good to work at his shops (because they were small shops where they did discount tattoo stuff). However, he said he knew some people and he could call them and see if they were hiring.
I went home. An hour later I get a phone call from him telling me to call his friend who owns a few shops. I call him, rush out of the house to meet him, get hired first thing. As a primary artist, getting paid more than Atomic was going to pay me and in a nicer place (cleaner for sure) with super cool people! The guys I work with are cool.
Lovin' my new job. Will take photos of the shop and stuff soon.
Also this:
Oh and don't forget my new set comes out on the 30th. Wanna see what that's going to look like. Well, here you go then: Sneak Peek. It was shot by the beautiful Miss Jezel Suicide. She is a great photographer. I mean, look how beautiful she made me look even without the Photoshop! She is AMAZING!
Much Love SG Land.
