Ah Car Recalls....
I have an appointment today to have the air bag sensors in my car fixed. Normally, I'd appreciate the little note in the mail telling me that if I should wreck my car I might die, but not so much this time. Want to know why? Well of course you do. See, I was having problems with my airbag lights coming on all the time and so I took my car to the dealership and had them look at it. They told me that "my battery cable was just loose". Riiiggghhhhhttttttt! Well I guess I know now that they were full of shit the whole time. It's a good think I didn't hit anything. I have a feeling that an air bag exploding in my face would hurt like hell. You see, the part that is broken is the part that tells the airbag how close your seat is to the wheel. In my case, I have my seat all the way up because I"m not so tall. Broken, it would pop like my seat was all the way back. I can't imagine that would feel any kind of pleasant at all.
Rant finished and now I'm off to take my car to have it fixed.

That sucks. Glad you were able to find out what was really going on before you were hurt.

I have a similar story exactly replacing airbags with daytime running lights and then later with leaking gasoline from the fuel pump from a dried up gasket.
