wah, i want colored dreads. but since my hair is so dark, i'd have to bleach it and then dye it and everything i've read indicates that that's a really terrible thing to do to dreads and if you want color you should put in synth ones. but fake hair creeps me out. i was thinking of getting real hair extensions (for some reason putting some other person's hair on my head doesn't creep me out even though it should, hmmm) dyeing them the desired color and wrapping my dreads w/it, but then it'll grow into my dreads and i'm pretty much stuck w/that stuff forever, and it'll make some of them thicker than others. and if it looks really shitty, i'm screwed. so maybe i should just make some fake ones out of synth hair and then at least if i decide i don't like them, i just have to cut them out and i won't be mad cuz i spent a ton of $ on real hair. now i just have to reconcile myself to the notion of having something fake attached to my head. i don't know why that bothers me so much but it does. ooohh, it just occurred to me that if i put in synth dreads i can lengthen those front pieces that are growing so slowly now that i'm not preggers anymore and they won't hang directly in my eyes. suddenly it seems not so creepy. thank god for blogs so i didn't have to bore a real person w/this.
