canon eos T2i 18mp or pentax K-r 12.4mp please help which is better for a beginner with background in 35mm slr

I don't have specific experience with either of those models, but I swear by Canons and I know a lot of people that will say the same. They just work really well, and last forever. You can't go wrong. I have 2 older models and have rarely had a problem with them. When they get a little older, they can have "sensor cleaning" issues, but they've lasted for a good while. just found out hawthorne heights is playing at a club nearby feb 2nd which i am psyched about. just gotta find someone to go with. also psyched that tonight will be my last working day of the year. celebrating new years at the local club where my fav local band emily's toybox is playing.

It's almost Christmas. That means i make my yearly pilgrimage to church with the family tonight. I should really pick a different day of the year to do that since i don't sing in church and christmas music drives me nuts, but it is nice to spend the time with family. leaving now to finish my xmas shopping
