Time for an update. Firstly, thank you everyone for the kind notes about the Bufe. The huge response here, via email and myspace is testament of how awesome that dude was. I've heard from people I haven't spoken with in years sharing their memories. Quite a few tears in the beer this week.
London has been real good so far. charley and doplex are great hosts and, aside from their annoying neighbors, I'm getting some much needed rest. I dragged Charley to see The Sugars Tuesday night and they killed. I really like that band and I think they're coming to London this weekend so I might go hit a club with them tomorrow night. And I just got a nice message from them about doing their album artwork. Lovely!
Wednesday night, Charley's charming man snuck us in to see 'Control.' Not really the best film to see if you are in need of cheering up but I thought it was pretty good.
Last night, the show went pretty well. I met a lot of great people and drank many pints and even sold a few posters -- thanks to flaneur for bringing the last.fm crew (without them sales would have been dismal). I had a great time talking to people and admiring the various Damien Hirst skull tshirts. Also met a nice guy who has guest listed me for Glenn Branca tonight! Oh! And I met manko who is just as fabulous in real life. Which reminds me, I need to figure out where the Zak Smith show is tomorrow.
Overall, all the shows went well. I didn't get rich but all my expenses have been covered and I have some pocket change to throw around London and pay some bills when I return home.
File under Small World:
The first night here, I went to a gallery show in Soho and just as I walk in I see a girl from Berlin I met in Hamburg last year when she was dating the guy that helped organize the shows last year. Pretty weird. Well, then I ran into her again while exiting the movie. What are the odds of that?
Let's see if I can upload some pics...

That's me patiently waiting to pee because I had too many pints.
