My van's steering gave out last night. Not great timing. I'm pretty broke right now and need to raise some money pretty quick. I have like $5K of money that should be coming to me in the next month or so but none of it in time to deal with the bills and other crap now.
I got a lot of weird requests for work today. Firstly, it's weird that people call me wanting to hire me to begin with. Secondly, one is a mural for a store in the Mission which I think is pretty cool -- having a a mural on Valencia would make me pretty happy. Then I got a call from a pretty major band from the 'jam' circuit who want me to do a poster. NOt a band that I thought I had anything stylistically in common with but a good opportunity to work with a band that understands what posters can be. So that's all cool.
The next few months are going to pretty ridiculously busy. I haven't counted yet, but I prolly have about 30 posters to do between now and the end of march. I guess that means no tour this year -- kinda bummed because I really like doing the small one night shows in San Diego and Phoenix. Hopefully I can just schedule it all for another time. But I'm actually getting jobs at SXSW this year -- two so far and that's awesome news.
Plus, I have a bunch of other projects I want to get done. I'm so tired of having ideas and never acting on them. Something always stops me and it just frustrates me. I don;t think I completed a single project that I wanted to do last year... there's just never enough time in the day.

I feel exactly the same way, and I'm trying very hard to change that this year.
