So what did Hobo get up to over the holidays:
Christmas
Christmas was quiet. The usual thing to do on Christmas eve is to go out in a big group and get rip roaringly drunk. Then rgret it all Christmas day.
This year due to my moving, others welcoming new babies into the world, one person being in Antipodea and others being busy, I was sober (Relatively so) for the first time in, God, ten years? So a quiet evening was had by me and the missus. Then we went off to be to await Santas arrival.
Even the consumption of about a bottle of quality red couldnt prevent me waking up at 4:30am on Christmas day.
Id like to say it was due to the excitement of Santa having visited but I just couldnt sleep.
After an hour of tossing an turning I got up and went downstairs to watch TV.
It was at this point that the BBC I-player came into its own, allowing me to watch the QI Christmas special and Mock the week all before the missus woke up!
Apart from that Christmas day was cool. Ill admit openly that Im a bitch to buy presents for. For example, 99.999999% of the time, If I see something I want Ill buy it (especially CDs books etc etc ) so I never know what to ask people for Christmas. But I still got some cool gifts
Also the day was an eye opener! Have you ever cooked a turkey before? Well we havent got a freezer in our gaff so three days before the big event we bought a frozen turkey and being good little chefs we left it to defrost.
On Christmas eve I was even clever enough to remove the frozen pack of internal organs they shove up it bum.
BUT
Why dont they tell you that as well as the giblets, they stuff the neck up inside its own arse before they freeze it? It was most disconcerting to pull a long thin fleshy thing out of its ass on Christmas morning
Oh well, it cooked okay and we had a nice Christmas meal with cocktails for desert!
New Year
Stayed in on new year and watched Helboy 2 on DVD with the surround sound system so loud the walls shook
was good fun!
And now its 2009....one more trip arond the sun underway and so many decisions to make? like what to have for tea!
