The Hank III show on Weds. was one of the best shows I've ever seen. He play for just under 3 hours! Name and artist who does that these days? The opening band was ok they were a bit more southern rock I'd say than country. Still not a bad band. Hank started out with his country music and that was just over an hour. He played some of his daddies music and a few of his granddaddies music as well. I didn't catch that Joe Buck wasn't with him playing stand up bass. Next he did his hellbillie (sp) stuff and let me tell you that kicked all sorts of ass. I didn't know any of the songs but it was all good stuff. Through the course of this set I found out that Hank III had been a part of Superjoint Ritual. I never knew. Lastly he did his Assjack set. The best way I know how to describe it would be a bit of hardcore and old school punk with a splash of metal for good measure. If you ever get a chance to see Hank III do it. He plays one hell of a show for playing three sets back to back to back. I was blown away. Easily one of the best two shows I've ever seen. The other being my first NIN show in a small venue in Chicago with only a couple hundred people there.
I decided not to go see Ben Folds because they've jacked the price up another ten bones. I can't justify paying almost $40 for one band. $40 for five or six bands or even a fest yeah but not just one band unless your talking the original line up of The Who or Pink Floyd.
No word on any jobs yet. I'm back to watching my niece 5 days a week for extra cash. As long as I don't put anything on my credit card and don't go out to the bar I should have a enough money to cover my bills for 2 to 3 months. This sadly means I doubt I'll be going to Wizard World Chicago like I had hoped. I am going to go to a small con down in KC later this month. Tony Moore is going to be there and I hope to get a sketch from him this year. I don't know if I want to get Rick from The Walking Dead or Heath Huston of Fear Agent. Well I'm off to go be a nerd and talk comics with some friends.
EDIT: I forgot a video with this blog. So here is something for St. Patties Day.

On the way there, yes. On the way back though, I had Oryon to keep me company.
