Well thanks for clearing that up, because heaven forbid that two (or more) consensual adults should be able to do whatever they want in the privacy of their own home.
Seriosily, who does this asshole think he is? Better yet, who does the goddamn right wing conservatives nutballs in this country think they are? If this isn't a violation of civil liberties, I dont know what is. Just wrap your head around this wonderful anti-sodomy law:
1) If your a straight couple, it's okay to engage in oral/anal intercourse.
2) If you are two members of the same sex, it's illegal, you can get arrested and thrown in jail, with your permeant record marked. All for doing something that is perfectly legal for two straight people to do.
Now, at first I just thought this was one of those weird old laws that no one paid attention to..you know, like how in some places you cant walk a Giraffe on a saturday (That's a law somewhere, believe it or not) but evidently this little rule is often used for political reaons...as in that gay neighbor up the street getting on your nerves for whatever reason? Well guess what..you can call the cops on him and have him arrested, in violation of these anti-sodomy laws...oh, and it doesn't matter if your not engaging in the act now..it's just assumed that if you and your partner live together, you must be. I guess that's guilty before proven innocent, huh?
Look, I'm neither republican nor an I democrat. I defintely lean more towards republican, but there' s a few key points that keep me going all the way..namely anti-abortion & anti-gay legislation, and the massive influence of the religious right. I am, however, completely supportive of our war on Iraq, firmly believe that a socialized healthcare system does not work (and never has), believe that many social programs do much more damage than they do good, criminals should not be coddled and deterent or not, the death penalty is as close as were gonna come to Karmic justice on this planet. I happen to really like George Bush and I think Clinton was one of the worse presidents we ever had.
But this! What the hell is this? What is with all these damn homophobia still floating around America and the world? I dont get it. It bugs me to no end. I cant stand the condescending attitudes evangelical asswipes get when talkign about how people "choose" to be gay, and how it's condemmed in the Bible, an whatever the bible says must be true. Hey, newsflash you ninnys..have you read that book lately? It encourages murdering non-believers, subjecting woman to nothing more than servants to their men, human sacrfice, promotes racism and genocide, etc etc. It's a book. It was written how many thousands of years ago? People change, cultures change..and if you dont change, then Darwin is going to give you a swift kick in the ass and your gonna wind up on the losing side of the evolutionary food chain.
Hey, ive dated plenty of girls..and ive dated plenty of guys. Ive done things that i"m not proud of, and ive had to deal with the consequences of doing stupid things (thankfully nothing to serious). If I want to redeem myself or save myself or "see the light", i'll do it on my own damn time on my own damn standards...I dont need the GOP or the Christian right or anyone telling me how I should be running my life.
