Just watched Darkness Falls.
Pretty good flick, i'm such a sucker for horror movies. Ive alwasy really dug the concept of an "urban legend" coming to life. I think that's why I liked Candyman so much, it got into the whole mythos of what stories and legends mean to us. Actually, now that I think about Wes Craven's New Nightmare also was fantastic at addressing that issue.
I am pissed, though, that the behind the scenes featurette didn't include an interview with Stan Winston. Stan Winston is a makeup god, plain and simple. Although I havent' been hearing the greatest things about his directoral project Wrong Turn. But then again, how can a movie about crazy inbred killer mutant rednecks NOT be good? Especially if it has Eliza Dushku in it. Hey..there's a link there! Stan Winston did the makeup effects for Darkness Falls, which starred Emma Caulfield, who played Anyaka on Buffy the Vampire slayer, which also starred Eliza Dushku. Er...I think my dork side is showing.
Ugh..to much wine, dont feel to well.

The thing about Wrong Turn that I still can't understand the point of is the "hideously deformed through generations of inbreeding" bit. Knowing that the director is a god among makeup artists kinda explains it, but it just seems like a cheap device to dehumanize the woodsmen. It'd be a much more ambitious film if it actually tried to make the woodsmen actual characters instead of boogey men. But I should probably hold criticisms until I actually, you know, see it.
And, of course, anything with Eliza is worth seeing. And lovely Emma. Ah, Joss sure could pick 'em.
Hmm, yes, same friend. Honestly. When women say they'd love to know a guy who loves to eat pussy, they're lying. They mean they want a guy who doesn't mind eating pussy when asked.
