I must be doing something right; my boss is pissed off at me, again.
I called my boss today to tell her about the list of complaints the girl who quit had against her manager. I told her that I was faxing then to the head of H.R. as well. She then used the phrase, I dont want you to take this the wrong way, I want to make this clear She then proceeded to tell me that it is not my job to represent this girl. She clearly was hoping that since the girl quit that the situation would just go away before her boss got wind of it.
I then told her, in a nice but firm manner, Let me make something clear. I am not going to let this girl get steam rolled and as a manager in this company I have a responsibility to see that this issue is resolved fairly.
I then talked to the head of employee relations and laid out the situation. He said he was going to talk to my boss and investigate the matter. So it should be interesting to see what happens.
In my opinion, this guy should be fired. Sexual comments aside, he has broken numerous company guidelines regarding use of company equipment for personal use. All of which according to company policy he can be terminated for.
I dont like causing problems, but someone has to stand up and help this girl. What happened to her is not right. She shouldnt have to quit a job she likes and is good at just because her boss is a sleeze.
I know this is the right thing to do.

Way to go I went out on a limb for an employee and went over heads it went very poorly but we both kept our jobs and they worked out a deal with her. So I guess the disired result came about but I was never closer to lossing my job except for when I did but they were completley unrelated anyway good luck and way to go it definently is the right thing to do.
