Strange Love
Folks came from all over the country to what was being called the social event of the sideshow world. Starla, the Sword Swallowing Tattooed Maiden married long time companion Lord Hugo, the Albino Pygmy in a romantic sunset service on the Gulf of Mexico.
Lord Hugo cut a dashing rug in his silver lame singlet. At his side, serving as best man was long time friend Lionel, the Lion-Faced Man. Starla chose a more traditional look, appearing in a white wedding dress. It was common knowledge among the performers, that the few extra pounds Starla was carrying were in fact a little bundle of joy. William Vicke, the sideshow owner was said to be quite excited about the impending arrival of what he hopes will be his most unique attraction of his sideshow family.
After much thought, Starla chose Mongoloid Margaret, the Horse-Faced-Hussy as her maid of honor. This was a sore subject among many of the female performers who believed they should have been chosen for the coveted position. Stash and Thorina, the conjoined pinhead sisters had originally refused to attend the ceremony, but relented at the last moment restoring peace to the sideshow family.
As the sun set on the Gulf, brilliant hues of red, pink and purple filled the sky. The sweet smell of magnolias and sawdust lingered in the air. Boneless Bob, the Human Blob was heard to say, Starla and Hugos love for one another was the most romantic thing I have ever experienced. Not since the engagement of Zamo, the flying squirrel boy to Gertie the Aztec princess have I seen such a love.
Shortly after the cutting of the cake, the festivities were cut short by the arrival of local law enforcement. Several local residents and a traumatized church youth group had stumbled upon event and alerted the county sheriff to goings on.
The happy couple will be honeymooning at the ancestral home of Starlas kin in the Appalachian Mountains for the next month before rejoining the sideshow.
