Well aside from the fact several peoples accounts have mysteriously reactivated here's the news
Thursday last week I cruised down to Ocean City Maryland for a car show called H2Oi(nternational). originally the show was built around water cooled vw/audi and some 15-20 years later just about anyone will show up and show off.
So I got in around 8 pm checked into my dope hotel room at the holiday inn where I had a fireplace, two queen beds a small kitchen and a balcony for roughly 100/night - awesome.
Boogied down the street to the condo where all my vw friends are staying from Rochester and had me a grand ole time. Completely accepted and actually had conversation with a bunch of peeps that I didn't think really cared to talk to me anymore - wonderful
anyways that was most of that evening, maybe a few hot laps and some food before bed but nothing special. The next enjoyed some Grotto pizza and brought my swim gear with me to the Rochester condo and we eventually headed to the ocean for some body boarding and body slamming by waves and all the salt water you mouth could handle.
after a few bouts on my feet I gave a shot at trying the board so i strapped up and waded caught a nice little wave and rode it until it curled under me and spiked me on the left side of my head and shoulder into the sand where I blew out my eardrum last my orientation and started yelling for help.
amidst the tumbling and fear of dying I saw the three friends that remained out in the water coming for me and then was suddenly grabbed by someone else who said he was a lifeguard at one point. he swam me close to shore and then told me I had to try and walk because I am heavy (thanks guy, I know) so I did my best until I just gave up.
He noticed that there was blood coming out my ear and I was complaining about some severe back pain so he held my head, I kept my eyes closed and someone called the police. The emts showed up probably some 10 mins later and people we making sure I was conscious and un-concussed and I never lost consciousness but my back still hurt like hell and my hearing was muffled. I eventually was boarded, thrown in a truck sideways over the back seats - which also felt great - and driving to the street where I was ambulanced to the nearest hospital. They asked me more of the same questions and everyone thought i was cold - well Im kind of insulated and I was feel great temperature wise for about 2 hrs - they gave my oxygen and I denied the morphine because pain goes away with proper treatment sans medication.
got the to hospital, stayed strapped to the board - which was the worse part because I needed t bring my legs up to help my back out - most of the time in the hospital i just sat feeling like hell and lonely until one of my many 'friends' down in maryland came to make sure i was gonna be ok - fuck yea he's rad - I got some xrays and the hit me with diladin and told me that i was pretty much ok - ruptured ear drum and thoracic pain which nothing but time (and antibiotics plus ice/heat) could heal.
I left the hospital barefoot with two towels and my swimtrunks and still finding sand every where. the one thing that bothered me other than the pain was the fact I could get the wet sand off my hands. They gave me some prescriptions which I dealt without them the first night and I only really needed the antibiotic for my ear and spent some time just cruising around by myself - since I had to make sure I was going to be able to make it home driving without medication - went back to the rochester condo to find that everybody was glad to see me and that i was ok. awesome
the rest of the weekend was very exciting for people that dont care much about cars and I mostly drank, ate, and made news friends or existing relationships stronger.
Now my back is feeling good but not completely awesome and my ear drum has scabbed over so I'll be right as rain in another few days.

still had a good time, I'll go further out into the ocean if I want to try any kind of surfing hahaha
