I did a 14 hour today! its coz i had tutoring after school but even so i still get all my work done, and i know that long hours are part of teaching...just the way it is.
because of the way our classes are i share my planning workload with 2 other teachers. we have to have EVERY lesson planned out. a week of planning will take an hour at least and we need 3 plans a week: math, literacy and everything else(foundation subjects). up till last term i was picking up my other two collegues slack and on my once fornightly day out of class (PPA day) i could have been doing 4 pieces of planning. i got in trouble for doing this so a timetable was drawn up to share it equally.so one of my collugues notices today she didnt do the right weeks planning so we have no literacy planning for next week and just turned around and said that she couldnt do it as she needed to do other planning.....no sorry nothing. now shes an NQT (newly qualified teacher) and they get an extra day a fortnight....so she has a day a week to do planning etc.when i pointed this out she turned around and said "yes jennie but im an NQT and i need that day to catch up with stuff"
how fucking rude. yes sweety.........BUT.....your a teacher like me and have to do everything i do and you have more time than me.she didn't even say sorry and ask for help JUST "so whose going to do it?" what even more stupid that i was an NQT 2 years ago and i had to do the same thing....i didn't have 2 people to share it with.......she gets in at 8;30 and leaves at 4:30 so its not like she doesn't have the time!!!!

Any advice on tutoring josh to get his reading level up would be greatly appriciated, he is statmented as he had behaviour problems, and dislexia
But dont feel you need to your busy enough as it is hun, i can find it all on the web, lol
he is in yr 4 as far as i know and his reading is lower than average but not sure of the level so i will try to find out. xx#
