Warning: this blog contains puppies (well, one anyway)

Yes, Merlin is six months old now (I'm a couple of weeks' late; apologies). And here are a couple of pics of the noble hound and his slave...

...I have to revert to puppies every now and then, you know. Not being a gorgeous SG, I can't just get away with writing 'I feel sad today' as my blog, and get 50-odd replies saying 'Call me', 'What's the matter?', and 'Oh baby, we're here for you'. In my more cynical moments I am tempted to write 'Well, get the fuck over it', but I try to resist my gremlins!

Anyway, at least all the replies I get are intelligent, incisive, caring, sincere and not motivated by a sexual subtext (at least I'm assuming they're not!).

Ha! Get me, being all prim and proper on a porn site! I must be slow this morning - it took five minutes for the irony to strike home!

------------------------------------

So. The clocks went back one hour at the weekend, which theoretically should have meant an extra hour in bed, but in reality meant I ended up walking Merlin one hour earlier, but was compensated by a glorious sunrise.

But it reminded me of when I used to work night shifts on a systems support team a few years ago. To be on shift the night the clocks went back was just the worst possible deal; a 13 hour night shift! The thought that you might get an 11 hour shift sometime in March was no compensation. As it was I used to get home at 7.30am, make everyone's breakfast, down a whisky and Zopiclone and attempt to get a few hour's sleep with the sun raking through the curtains. I did manage to bring a major government system down one night through lack of concentration, but then we all did at some point!

-------------------------------------

Currently reading The Death of Innocents by Sister Helen Prejean. The Deep South really is a different country, isn't it? I'm only 30 pages in and already revolted by the nature of justice there. Awful, just awful.

Viewed: Nakata's 'Dark Water' (2002)...

...which I enjoyed, but confused it with another film because the really scary elevator scene I remembered wasn't there. It's in 'Gin Gwai' (The Eye) instead. And it still scares the crap out of me, even on Youtube!

Also bought: Pontecorvo's 'The Battle of Algiers' (1966), which I watched a long time ago. One of the greatest films ever made, the Pentagon have shown it to staff to impress upon them how you can lose a conflict even when you defeat the terrorists. Scrupulously objective, it reminds the viewer there are never easy answers. Timely viewing.

And 'Betty Blue' (1986), finally. I love Betty - I love the fact that her love is violent, destructive and uncompromising. Who couldn't love a woman who would stab a fork in the publisher who rejected her lover's book? And, yes, Beatrice Dalle is damned hot too!

Love to all

Awwwww! Puppy! Merlin is SOOOO cute. The one of you two together is cute. I really like the other though... There's something that really draws the eye.

I try not to post many depressing blogs... It's not the person I want to be. I'm working really hard to get myself out of that kind of space. Besides-- I don't get 50 responses anyway. The only time I post about "boo-hoo" stuff is when I'm just trying to mentally work through it, (like when honey went to jail).

Maybe I should try to work on being an SG again so I can post them.. hehehe!

It's my friends that keep me on SG, not the naked girls. Not that I don't appreciate them, but it's not my first priority as to why I spend the time here that I do.
