My Saturday mornings are going downhill, and it's all my daughter's fault. She'e been going to gymnastics for a few months now, and when it started, everything was great. The lesson started at 9am, so my wife got up and took her, while I got on with cleaning the house. But she keeps getting better and moving up classes, and the lesson has slipped from 9 to 10 and now to 11.

So. I get up early with my girl, and we walk Merlin. And we get back and I make some tea and toast and carry it up, and do breakfasts and shower and so on. And start on the cleaning. And I make some more tea and carry it up. And then some more...until finally I hear the shower at 9.30am.

And I'm thinking 'Christ, if she goes up many more classes it'll be the middle of the afternoon'. So, I get on with polishing and vacuuming and dusting. And this is all fine because, frankly, I'm completely useless after about 6pm. Some people are morning people, others are not.

But occasionally you need a little help and inspiration when it comes to the monotony of dusting. You know, a little music to cheer you; in my case bring out my inner camp (if only you knew!); your own kind of music...

Inimitable indeed. What a dress! What a woman!!! Nothing like hitting that high note while you polish the coffee table.

Love you all

I'm not even sure what I am anymore - a few months ago I was going to sleep at 5am. Now, that's the time that I generally get up. No daughter or dog, of course, but my cat has me on call 24/7.

Thanks for the memories... I loved Mama Cass, and John and Denny and Michelle. And the Spoonful. And all the rest of that great 60's music that was the soundtrack to my younger life.

Best wishes...

The pride you have toward your daughter really shines through. I can certainly relate, as I reveled in both of my daughters' accomplishment, both big and small. Even today as adults, they never cease to amaze me at what they're capable of.

You have a lot of things to look forward to with her. Enjoy.
