PICTURE DIARY
Well, after yesterday's existential crisis, I will keep today's blog as word free as possible. I hope. You know me, though.
So. I will pack in the garden, a bit of a walk, a sort of visual follow up to my climbing article that left you hanging (groan) at the end, and of course, our puppy Merlin....
So, first of all, the garden looking good at 6:30 in the morning, as I let Merlin out for his morning constitutional....

A bee on a field scabious, where Merlin and I go for our walk (this looks especially good enlarged, even if I say so myself)......

Last Sunday, I went for a short walk in the Burbage Valley (all these taken on phone, so apologies for quality.....
....across the brook.....
...pausing to look west to the great plateau of Kinder Scout from Higgar Tor....
....before heading onto the remnants of the Iron Age hill fort on Carl Wark, the wall still standing after 3000 years.....
......then crossing the 18th century pack horse bridge (especially for grayb!); it was my last job as a national park ranger to repair the retaining walls of this bridge......
....before heading up to the boulders, which lie below the edge of Burbage South - a small gritstone cliff containing some of the hardest climbs in the country.....
....where I took a few pics that might give the lie to my intention to give up my chosen sport.....

And as for Merlin?
Well, here he is at thirteen and a bit weeks (and just after his first shampoo).....
....having a scratch, while contemplating digging up the lawn.....
...and then taking a little nap.....

Added to all that, my previous manager may have work for me on a new European account. So I am just crossing everything right now, and hoping things are looking up.
