THINGS NOT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE DRUNK NO.1

Bet your friend and neigbour that you can grow a better 70's porn moustache than him.

I did this two weeks ago and, once I'd sobered up, desperately hoped he'd forgotten about it. But I saw him last week sporting a fine growth. I am now at that annoyingly itchy four day stage, and hoping my...

Yea those beaches are the best. I really hope my wife gets stationed there or Europe somewhere.

Oh to be able to afford the money and time to travel to Europe...

There are far too many unhappy people out there, what with work problems, personal problems and so on. I haven't had a great week myself. So it's time for a bit of bucking up.

First an intro. This is a comedy duo called Armstrong and Miller, and the number they perform here is a parody of an English act from the fifties called Flanders and...

It's mostly IN it but it's on the outside too. I do think he's being a whiny baby. I even offered to clean them because she's my dog even though things like that make me barf. lol
cayleigh:
haha the guys I end up with never look like that but one can hope right?

Right - last post far too self-absorbed and downbeat. NurseEvy and Badluck Brent have put me in a sentimental Eighties mood.
I wish I had a photo of me from 84/85, with long post-New Romantic hair, black eyeliner, diamante earring, long black coat and leather boots.
However, I have been rummaging through Youtube and come up with some ancient gems:

A wonderful track from The...

He truly was an amazing guy. My wife and I have become total anglophiles as we she drives a Jag I drive an old Range Rover, our favorite show is Top Gear. Funny you like Man City as when I would go to soccer camp as a kid our 5 aside team was Man City. Now I like Newcastle but I haven't watched a Premiership match in a couple of weeks. Looks like Newcastle is headed for relegation.
REM yes I did love REM too. I lived next door to a guy who went to school with Michael at U Georgia, their lyrics are truly incredible.

You can't just stick them through the wash. lol. They're not made like that. They stain and it's part of his uniform so if they don't look good he gets in trouble. He's a marine btw.

This has got to have been one of the most nerve-wracking weeks of my life. Let me explain - only about six years ago, I was still happily working a shift pattern, providing base level support for our company's IT systems - predictable work, reasonable salary, and you could forget about it when you went home. But today, I find myself in a position of...

Sometimes life is definitely too short for the stuff that gets shovelled your way at work. Take this for example:
"Opportunity for profit, or, opportunity for loss cannot be calculated in NPV. If a proactive process is put in place but has not been invoked, no savings can be claimed from the improvement process not yet invoked."
I have 48 slides of stuff like that...

Not my intention. I don't equate my mom with "old." She's the coolest mom I know. She goes to concerts and stuff with me, she gets along with my friends at parties and so forth. So it was not an insult at all. I just know she likes that kind of music as well. =P
nurseevy:
Also, of the music suggestions you've made, I've listened to and liked most of them so far. =)

What a fantastic weekend. I'm sure I could come on here and rant about all sorts of issues to do with money and work. But sometimes life is just really good. My wife and I went with a couple of friends to see Samuel Beckett's 'Waiting for Godot' at the theatre on Saturday. And it was FANTASTIC. Patrick (make it so) Stewart, and Ian 'a...

This is my edited journal from my trip to Scotland last weekend. My apologies for the quality of the photos - the poor weather was entirely to blame. The quality of the writing is all my fault, however!)

Rain Stopped Play (or Thoir a-mach ris an tom)

Its a long way from South Yorkshire to Inverpolly. 470 miles, to be precise;...

haha thanks! I think I might do a video blog today. I was talking to someone yesterday who didn't think I look like I have a twang and lots of people who meet me online and then hear me talk are never expecting it so I thought it would be neat for you guys to hear me. I just have to get motivated to do my hair and stuff early enough before work.

So. Back to the good news. I'm off to Northern Scotland finally on Friday morning. It'll be a completely different trip to the usual winter outing. The past few years have involved full-on winter conditions, narrow ridges, whiteouts and so on. But this time it's just about the wilderness. Hiking off over a couple of mountains, and camping out by a remote loch.
I will...

Ever had one of those weeks?
I'd love to be writing about lots of positive stuff, like fun days out or surprising discoveries. But sometimes work just grinds you down completely. First I return from a great little holiday with my daughter to find my laptop needs a complete rebuild. Plus my Palm has stopped functioning. My daughter put an After Eight mint in my...

Well, as Burns rightly said, 'The best laid plans o' mice an' men gang aft agley'.
Laid low with a bad cold, Scotland has been postponed for a couple of weeks. Still, it gives me more time to prepare, and a change of itinerary beckons. 470 miles of hard driving will land me in Inverpolly in the far north of Scotland, at the same latitude...

Well, I guess I have to start somewhere!
My little girl and I spent a fantastic few days in the Scottish Highlands last week, packing so much into our few days there. Two hours of skiing lessons, and I was soon being burned off by a seven year old. Honestly. Once she executed this killer carve to the right at the base of the run,...
