I'm trying to remind myself that the past eight months can't have been a TOTAL waste...and that they definitely should NOT take away from the amazingness that was the 32 years prior... But I know how it is to feel like someone ripped time right out from under you.

I too have grown resentful over people taking advantage of my compassion. It sucks because you don't want to become callous but at the same time you can't help by to keep your guard up.
