I must've woken up on the wrong side of the metaphorical bed this morning: I've been stomping about intolerant of everything around me all day.

I find it easy to spot something negative in everything today. Arcade Fire and Bjrk are both playing at BDO in January but I hate festivals and $125+BF sounds outrageous to me.
I'm hating everyone that doesn't recycle or conserve water: if you don't want to participate in important community efforts (yes! these are important!) then fuck off to the desert and out of my community!

A little selflessness makes a much greater difference than a little selfishness.

So yeah, I'm just generally in a foul mood.
I'm usually a positive person but it's amazing how others can influence you so strongly. If you spend a lot of time with someone who nitpicks every little detail, you become a nitpicker; if you spend a lot of time with someone who is quick to judge others, you judge others quickly too. Not that I've been around either of these kinds of people recently, but still you get the gist.

Most of this is bound to be the result of being home again. Spending over a week with some of your closest friends and just enjoying their company makes anything else seem worse in comparison.

Nonetheless, I did manage to finish one of my uni tasks this morning. And installed some wiki software on one of my sites. So that's all good. Clothes are washed and waiting in the machine for me to hang out to dry. I have twelfty-thousand personal projects I could be working on - vague ideas floating around inside my head - but a lack of further compulsion and my brain just short circuits when I try and decide what to work on.

Also, the new Legend of Zelda for DS is awesome.

EDIT: Insult added to injury. I've just been instructed that I have to pay rent at my parents' house as their rent has been increased. Naturally I'm a bit pissed off about it. I'm here by their invitation and assurance that I don't have to pay rent, not because I enjoy their company and political views.
This just places more pressure on me to find a one-day-a-week job - enough to cover a room in a share house (Hi Tez! bok ) - and get out.

All it takes for me to hate everything and everyone is a bad night's sleep - and going to work.

Im no fan of festivals myself..hell i dont like 95% of the music most people on here seem to dig.Its true what you say,if you spend enough time in crappy environs it starts to rub of. For me the difficult part is all my old friends-people i have known for 30+ years are directly opposite me in almost all aspects of life, the only thing we have in common now days is a love of science fiction-but how do you drop 30 yrs of friendship..you cant,so i just grit my teeth and bare it
Hope your situation resolves itself quick smart and you get to relax & live in a cool house
