mann, priceline is the bomb. I got a hotel room for $70 near everything in Tampa. I also got my rental car $16 a day (with taxes that comes out to $70 for three days).

One problem that I had was trying to visit a bar without friends. I just don't few comfortable drinking alone without friends at a bar. I have no problems drinking a few beers at home alone. Drinking at a bar alone is a boring activity. I never found it be fun.

Defeatist attitude... just go, say hey to anyone that looks friendly, and have a couple brews. But call some friends, say " hey, we're goin out" and then you are gravy. Go a couple times with friends till you know the bartender, and you are set. Trust me on this, It's all about bein friendly and takin the chance on new people. Some of them will be weird, and some will be cool as hell.

If I go alone to bar, I prefer to visit a sports bar for a drink.
Usually, I find the people there to be more friendly. I usually talk to older people at bars or single men. They are more friendly and we have good conversations there. I hate to visit some trendy bars alone though. People there tend to be unfriendly, tend to hang with their friends, and are not open to chat. If I visit a trendy bar, I just go with my friends and we stay to ourselves.

i agree .. i actually get most of my current events news from the message boards here .. as odd as it sounds there are usually really good links that lead to other really good links and so on .. the internet is deffinatly a much better way to accumulate information rather than being told what to think about what issue
