warning: SG related rant

so i just got kicked out of the Soccer (Football) Group for having a different opinion than the majority of the people in there. its good to know that freedom of expression is alive and well at SG. the group owner, who was immediately on my case for expressing my view that FIFA (the world soccer governing body) is not hopelessly corrupt and there is in fact reason to enjoy the World Cup, didnt see any reason to tolerate someone of my ilk in there and whisked me out the door.
[i just remember how when the world cup in south africa started noone wanted to start a thread on the world cup because the group owner was on this political tear against the world cup being hosted by south africa. i started a thread because WTH its the world cup! and noone was talking about it in the soccer group!]
so i got booted because i had a different opinion. was not rude at all even though this particular jolly fellow was immediately saying things to the effect "what the fuck are you talking about?". great atmosphere in there basically.
so i'm in one less group now. anyway.....not gonna miss it
don't know if i mentioned it yet but im going to Mexico this month. i leave next friday to be exact. im going to Cozumel to do some scuba diving and gonna do some trips to the Mayan ruins at Tulum and Chichen Itza.
i'm gonna do my 4 open water dives at Cozumel to finish up my certification process which i started in NYC. took the course and passed my exam and did a couple classes in the pool, which were a bit crowded and chaotic, but useful.
i cant wait to fly out.
