today is #BellLetsTalk day up here in Canada. this is an awareness program for mental health initiatives in Canada and serves two main purposes. 1- raise money for mental health. by using the #BellLetsTalk hashtag, every tweet and retweet will raise 5 cents. i have been hitting retweet all day every time i see this hashtag in my feed since it is easy and goes to a great cause. 2- this initiative really helps start/keep the conversation going on mental health issues. it helps remove the stigma associated with mental health and helps bring people in from the dark to get the help and support they need. i don't think it is a stretch to say that every person has either been personally affected by mental health issues themselves or by someone they know and love. please take a couple of seconds, hit up twitter and either post the hashtag above or retweet it based on a search. every little bit helps.
