I got the inspiration for this one at a train station watching couples re unite as one got of the train and the other ran up to greet them.


Love Bound


I rode the train got my ticket at the station
Prepared myself for my ride across the nation
Out the windows I saw lovers in trouble
I saw flames appear from under the rubble
To catch a flame you gotta learn to swallow your pride
It'll happen it'll burn it'll start from inside

Traveling the planets this is what I found
Poets understand it everyone is love bound
Traveling in circles I was going round
Always in rehearsal everyone is love bound
There are no other love songs; listen to mine
Love is just a capture of time (a coincidence within the mind)
Love is bound to remind

I rode the subway and I read the graffiti
Everywhere it said all persons were needy
Him and her they were grasping for action
Always knowing that love is fantastic
To get a break you gotta start to hollow your pride
It'll happen it'll hurt it'll burn from inside

A girl is crying on the back of a bus,
I know she'll recover it's only a crush
Each disappointment just brings us around
And alive to the fact that we're always love bound

First one is about a woman named Annette that worked with me ,at a whole sale book distributor, when I was in my late 20's. she died suddenly in her late 50's, she was a cool gal :-} and the second was something I wrote after I visited my friends at college 4th semester after I left after the 3rd semester and I didn't see them for like 3 months after being BEST friends, man I was a sad sack when I was young.



The keeper of books



Discussing Dave Lee Roth's buns
And the crazy songs I sung
But talking 'bout the world of pets
That's how I'll remember Annette

Keeping pennies just in case
Buying donuts she never ate
Laughing at the jokes 'bout sex
That's how I'll remember Annette

Racing around at break neck speed
(I remember how she pushed her feet)
She knew every title that I mistook
I'll remember the keeper of books




Making other friends



Did anyone ever tell you that you can't go home?
Once you haven't been around
It's expected that you break your back
To be the same old clown

Though they miss you though they kiss you
Though they hug you though they love you

They don't have the time for you again
Worse of all they're making other friends
