My trip to Pittsburgh was short, but full of fun!!!
Sometimes I do question why I ever moved away from the Burgh. But I am of the mindset that not exploring the continent and living in different parts would be a greater loss. Memories last forever, but dreams change.

Upon arrival, my first task, shoveling my grandma's front sidewalk and around the car. (btw I am still sporting my shorts)

I started the tour by taking her up the Monongahela Incline. Since 1870, this has been taking Mt. Washington residence up and down to Pittsburgh.

Next up, the Strip District!!! One of my favorite spots in the Burgh. The history of this area is deep. They used to make cannons for the Civil War, then it became the wholesale district of Pittsburgh with its easy access to the river and the rails. then about 80% of the wholesalers left after roadways became more popular. But there has been a resurgence of new shops and housing among the older wholesalers. You can get whatever you want as far as fresh food for cooking goes. Fresh pasta, dried meats, live fish and tons of produce.
And my favorite breakfast joint, De Lucas. What your looking at is the mixed grill plate. Tons of onions, green peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes thrown on the griddle and then mixed with home fries. Then fresh sweet & hot sausage is cooked and stacked on the pile. Then two eggs are fried to your liking are placed on top. This thing weighs in at 2.5 pounds of yum! Oh yeah, it also comes with toast.
This is me almost finishing the monster meal.
Walking around, you can find amazing works of art on random objects. The old brick buildings make for amazing backdrops and canvases.
