I heard a news segment on NPR/KCRW tonight on the way home from work. An embedded reporter was talking to MEEEchelle Norris from a pitch black tent in the middle of some desert near Baghdad.
He said there were no lights of any kind, no lights allowed whatsoever, not even allowed to smoke a cigarette in case of being spotted and ambushed.
Ironically enough, this reporter was one who was embedded in caradoc's division. (caradoc - fillerbunny's brother Eric, who I recently sent some stuff to in care packages).
Headquarter Battallion, 1st Marines Division. May "god" - whatever that is - bless them and keep them safe as they sweat it out in that horrific and terrifying darkness.

No actually I think it would be fine if both Saddam and Bush somehow got killed. Saddam by a bomb and then Bush by tripping and falling down the stairs of Air Force One and breaking his neck as he was arriving for a big meeting with the new Iraqi government after the war is over. Of course, that would make Cheney President...uh...maybe Bush could fall on top of Cheney and they both die. Who's Prez then? I can dream can't I?
