Yep. This is the fun part. I've found the bathing suit, so this morning I went ahead and clicked the "submit order" button for the clothes I found for the honeymoon. I spent well under $300 and I am pretty sure I got everything I needed.
I got:
6 tank tops in various colors
2 pairs of shorts, one black and one white
a top and capris outfit
a white "can can" skirt with large dark pink flowers
a long black cotton, drawstring skirt
a pair of loose, olive-colored linen pants
two bathing suits one in black, one in red and black
&
3 pairs of sandals
I imagine the linens I ordered will come soon, too. I bought a pale blue paisley and floral quilt cover with pillowcases and some soft blue Egyptian cotton sheets for us to dive into when we get home.
The Mad Tea Party is a "bed and bath shower" so that can mean anything from cotton sheets and towels to vintage pillowcases to lingerie to bath bombs and everything in between. I think I'll be looking forward to coming home and enjoying the new goodies after the honeymoon as much as I will be to actually leaving for the vacation itself! Not to mention that we will be launching our search for a new place to live once we get back, too, so that part is exciting.
Well. Gotta go. Nicki called last night to tell me that she has some parts of my wedding dress ready, including the corset, so I'm off to get into the shower and then go to her place for my first fitting! Weeeeeeeeeee!

OH MY GOD that gown. Holy Hell is it going to be beautiful. It's in pieces and it's ALREADY beautiful! I nearly cried while thanking Nicki for her fabulous work. I tried on the corset bodice to get the right fit. And the satin portion of the skirt, which already has a fabulous train attached to it, as well as the drapey chiffon layer that goes over the entire skirt. My heart was beating so fast.
Even unfinished, it just felt so amazing to have that dress on. OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN. I am so excited. They measured me for the veil as well. Oh MAN!!! Nicki is the most incredibly, deeply talented person I know. I really, truly mean that. She is unreal. Just... I can't even say it in words. Wow. Just wow.
