Excerpt...

Yesterday, I read two entries from two different people that were written about two entirely different subjects. However, both of them hit very close to home and, in the end, seemed to intersect. The stand out point from the first piece was about how - at a certain point in everyone's life - you have to start over from scratch. The other entry was about how there are no guarantees that there will even be a tomorrow. Thinking about the two things, and then putting them together, gave me a completely new perspective.

I woke up refreshed today, and full of hope. Ready to give "life", as it were, a second chance. Starting over isn't outside my ability. It never has been. And giving respect to the fact that there may not be a tomorrow means giving the utmost respect to every moment of every day, and treating those moments as if they will be your last. I will be damned if I continue giving respect to the negative forces that I've allowed in to my life recently.

It's a new day. The past is what it is. I keep thinking to myself, "There are so many things so much more important than this. Things that really matter. Things that always will matter. None of this really matters. It won't even matter to me tomorrow, or in an hour from now."

How stupid have I been to dedicate any energy to this frivolous, vapid garbage, let alone so much of it for so long? Why did I submit to that? So goodbye. Forever. And when I say "forever", I mean it. Believe me. I've got work to do. And so do a lot of other people out there. Talk to your respective Gods if you must, but for fuck's sake get your heads out of your asses and pay attention to what is really important. You know who you are. And to those who are already on the right path - you should congratulate yourself for being smart enough to get there before the rest of us. I admire you.
