Shopping for specific dietary requirements in New Zealand let alone the world from what I am aware of is rather hard, and quite honestly after today bloody ridiculous. I have been dairy free since I was 10 years old, after being raised on dairy as a child I know what I am actually missing out on haha. So my ice creams like Goody Goody Gum Drops, Hockey Pockey (New Zealand specialty), and desserts like Cheesecake and Triffle, and just the likes of Cheese or anything that has a pinch of dairy in it, I officially miss it.
So today after my exams, I got sick of not having some of my favourite things and decided to make a Vegan/Dairy Free Triffle =] and can not wait to dive into it later tonight.
Still need to put on some Dairy Free Cream, and then some Dairy Free Chocolate that my mum found for me. Will be AMAZING to actually be allowed to have dessert tonight and not suffer for it afterwards. I had to go to five different shops to struggle to be able to find any of the ingredients. BUT I FOUND THEM AND I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED HAHA
In the past I have only been able to have a few sweet things for dessert. I have made Lemon Meringue, and my special home made Orange Cupcakes and or Loaf =]
And then the Orange Cakes =]
Have tried a Dairy Free Cheesecake before, that was pretty decent but needs a lot of work before it is top notch. Hope you enjoy the food porn =]
