You went to the Festival of Fear??? One of my oldest and best pals zombiequeen co-ordinated that event, a weekend of zombie makeup, extreme nerdity, and heavy binge partying with the Rue Morgue Crue! If it's one thing I love about those folks, it's that they LOVE their own enthusiasm, a LOT.

I don't know enough about your connection to Venice (Italy, right?) to offer any advice at all. Moving to a new country to get your career started is a completely huge big mother fucking deal. Trust me. I don't know people who can do it on a whim, and it means staying long enough (indefinitely) to really entrench yourself into some rad production company. All that aside, Venice is fucking rad and I'd probably go.

installation ~ a horror/fantasy piece with swooping bat wings (stylized) made entirely out of adult sex clothes (velvet, stretch vinyl, silk ~ all black) carrying off this tiny chinese pj outfit w/ dragon shoes i wore as a three yo. all suspended from the ceiling so that they circle with a natural current. i used a room w 14 foot ceilings, and the clothes are in roughly forehead range on most. i wrapped the space floor to ceiling in black garbage bag like material, and set a blue, a pink, and a red bulb up to hightlight each bat differently, but they swirled in/out of the other light. i put bjork's "frosti" on repeat whilst it played. you can walk into/around the exhibit, and the bats always look like they are swooping toward you. it was 11 ft wide and 7 ft deep. it rocked my world.
