Just returned from another week-end back home, not too far from the big city. Feeling very fatigued and a little emotional, mostly because I haven't slept much since Friday. Of course, ther are other things...Being betrayed by a good friend put me in a bit of a raunch. The home I've spent most of my life in is quickly being emptied for another family to claim as their own. It won't be mine to return to for that much longer, and the reality is beginning to sink in. Talked to an old high school friend who just recently lost her dad...Often times I return home and feel disdain about the things that never seem to change. And now that some things have changed, I'm feeling pretty nervous...a bit scared really.
But not all is weird and unsatisfactory. I celebrated my sister's birthday with the entire family on Saturday night, and spent some very much needed time with good friends that are very dear to me. My sister's partner who is a civil engineer had me in stitches at the dinner table yesterday. Right now, he and his colleagues are building a "frog crossing" in a nearby city. I'm not exactly sure how this thing works, but it's being installed at some major roadway to reduce the number of froggie-shmucking incidents that occur annually. LMFAO!
