I sit in grievance, waiting for a bus to take me to a place I don't want to go. While the sun shines, I steel myself for another day at the grindstone, pulping my will into a fine paste.

Am I ever going to go to school? Why do I want so badly to pay for a degree I don't want from a school I don't respect? Why do I want to become educated just for the sake of education so I can live in destitution for four years (or more) to come away to return to the same job I have now? Why be an educated-affluent-lower-class-intellectual?

why do I want these things? what does intellect mean to me? (everything)

so why do I have to write about it?

Sounds silly to me. I love school. I love taking classes. But I only take classes that I really want to take. Who knows if they'll get you anywhere, but I say learn about what you want to learn about.

Experience is the best teacher. And it looks good on a resume too, not to mention keeping you happy and busy. And yes, there's a BIG difference between intellect and education.

My first time 'round through school, I really only had a vague idea of what I wanted to do. Never ended up doing it because the whole thing started to seem pointless. I'd say, for now, go to school and get any gen ed done. You know, the gen ed that you would need to get done if you suddenly found yourself needing to go to school for something really cool later down the road. The you won't have to sit in boring gen ed classes waiting for the cool stuff. I mean then. Get it over with now. Or something. Maybe listening to me isn't a good idea....
