reading mother tongue, janet's book, talks about it often. about origins of language, english, comparison to other languages. im thinking about cultural differences affected by language differences. orwell talking about controlling language to control thought. evolutionary psychology, instinctive language skills. neanderthals had bigger (volume) brains, less vocal range.
voted today, 3 democrats, 8 greens. I very much hope the D's take back the senate and im sure CA will keep theirs. but really i want more change than democrats offer.

It sucks because I really miss my Daily Show. I've been watching since the first episode with Craig Killborn. I don't think I've hardley missed an ep in all the years it's been on until I moved up here. I may just have to break down and get satellite cable in my truck.
