I suck now at English.

I've had to write 2 essays in English today and they've both come out as fairly flimsy demonstrations of what I'm capable of. For example, I'm sure I could've used a better word than "demonstrations" there.

I keep on getting to a point where I hear the rhythm of the word I want and even guess a few of the...

Demographic is four syllables though haha.
kharnalbloodlust:
i would say demographic too...that's the first word i thought of.

and "example" for demonstrations.
not that i really can say anything...i'm not exceptional at english--and i have no excuse. it's my first (and really only) language. you do just fine.

though i thought i'd already thanked you previously, i see that i've failed horribly. thank you so much for the sweets you sent!!! love love love love
cadbury chocolate is my absolute favorite. when i opened the package and saw a bar of it there....i about died. it was eaten immediately. then i tried the little fruity gummy things--always a treat. though the french version were more chewy and less leathery than most american gummy candies. i set aside the choco-mint bar for weeks. i don't really like mint, but i finally decided that i would try it in the spirit of broadening my international experiences...
wow! for choco-mint, that was amazing! the little bubbles in it were like nothing i'd ever had before. so thank you thank you thank you for taking the time and caring enough to send me those candies. they were greatly appreciated. i wanted to send something back, but the address provided was for america, and i figured you wouldn't be there by the time the package arrived.

if you get a chance, try ghirardelli chocolate. it's amazingly smooth, and comes in many flavors. it is, by far, my favorite american chocolate. screw the godiva, go ghirardelli.

i'll miss you. i would still be gone but someone bought me a guest account. why are you leaving?

As you can tell, I'm still here-- I think the account info page is a bit messed up. I think I've got another 8 days or so, but I'm not taking that for granted.

Doing lots of work this week. 2 essays, a 5 min presentation and a debate to by Monday, so lots to be getting on with. It also helps to distract me...

Hmm.
My account is either going to expire today or on 21st. I'm not sure.
If I'm grey tomorrow morning, it's either that or I've stopped breathing.
I have a livejournal and contact details-- feel free to get in touch when I'm gone.
coops:
I didn't buy my account, but whenever it expires, I'm out like gout as well...
We need to keep in touch though...definitely. wink
holy_mountain:
Awww Take care!

I don't know where I'm going, but I'm pretty sure this isn't the right way.

Today I thought I'd express myself through the medium of verse.
This isn't great poetry but I don't have a melody or anything figured out yet, so this isn't a song either, so weak poetry it is, I suppose.

It doesn't matter how she gets it--
Her smile lights up my life.
As much as I want it to be me,
I'm glad somebody's there...

Itunes makes Lego a sad boy. frown

I've been umming and ahing ever since I got my little Ipod shuffle in February about whether to sign up to Itunes, for lots of reasons. Today I decided to take the first step by perusing the Itunes site and seeing what I could buy. Having found a wealth of stuff I wanted, I decided, what the heck-- I'll...

Proof right that that the US is far superior to the UK. wink
HaHa j/k America sucks.
holy_mountain:
Yeah I think a better way to put it is the most popular opinion is the defintion of good and evil, not nessasarily those who has the most power. And yes, America's God is the dollar bill haha. biggrin

Even though there has to be one absolute truth of what the origins of the universe are, it doesn't nessasirly mean that there is an absolute moral standard. For the sake of argument let's say that the Muslims are right, therefore making all other religions wrong. That would mean that the the Muslim's moral standards, the Koran, would be the absolute moral standards.

But if the atheists are right (which we are *wink wink*) that would mean there isn't a supreme being, therefore there wouldn't be an absolute moral standard.

If the Christians are right that would mean the bible would be the absolute moral standard. This would also mean that believing in any other religions is "evil" as the Second Commandment says "You shall have no other gods besides Me".

However all religions (besides Satanism haha) believes in the golden rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." If only we could get everyone to agree that homosexuality, premaritial sex and masturbation is in fact NOT evil then the world would be a happier place hehe.

Good grief this week is disappearing quickly, probably because I've had lots of work to do and the prospect of meeting the English nurse again (not to be confused with the English Patient) speeding things along.

Having discussed things with a couple of friends, I remembered I'm quite glad being single and don't really want to start anything right now, especially not with someone who...

Ok, so this week:
Monday
Amanda turned 21. She is very pleased with her signed J.E.W. CD.

Wednesday
Amanda discovered her ex (who she thought she could stay friends with but then started hoping something would work out with) was seeing someone else, much to her obvious disappointment. I redeemed myself a little (at least in my esteem) by doing my best to help her...

Every now and then I'll hear a song I haven't heard in ages and I just want to get up and dance.
Sometimes I even do-- just get up and brazenly shake my thing in the middle of my empty room; a packed club; wherever; not caring that I might look like a spastic on speed or that something is trying to desparately escape from...
