Trekked up to Uppsala (40 mins north of Stockholm) on Sunday and stayed with some friends from my home uni until this morning. I think we were all equally happy to see each other, and it gave me a completely new perspective on Sweden, just in time for me to go home to England in 7 days....
Really cold up there- the snow that mostly melted here in about 12 hours was still there, about a month after it first fell and it's been as low as -13 degrees there (don't ask me what that is in Farenheit- use Celcius like the rest of the world). I think it probably got down to -3/-5 last night and staggering out of a pub after a couple of pints and chasing a bus in this weather with the same cold I've basically had for 2 weeks now was rather a shock to the system but quite funny too
It gets dark at about 3.30 in Uppsala too, which I didn't quite get used to. It's bad enough way down south where it gets dark at about 4.30, but it felt like about 7/8pm at 4 in Uppsala, which was odd.
French oral exam on Thurs, Christmas party on Fri, then Christmas shopping and packing over the weekend.
And there was much rejoicing
