A weekend of highs and lows.
Highs: my Swedish is getting a lot better. Went to a party on Saturday and got by in conversation with several pretty hot Swedish girls. Sweet.
Caught up with my mate Hannah who has just arrived in Lund. Talked about our summers and stuff and just enjoyed being British and talking about British things for a few hours.
Finally hooked up broadband internet in my room, with a 10m cable so I could probably still be connected in the room across the corridor. Fortunately, the occupant of said room is a cute girl who listened to the Specials while she moved in yesterday, so this could be good
Lows:
Apparently Kazaa is against the uni server regs, so I managed to get blocked from the net for most of the weekend within 12 hours of getting connected. 8 of those 12 hours I was asleep. I feel quite proud- it must be some sort of record.
Having decided I'd feel really awful if I saw anyone else even though Steph and I are "non-exclusive", I thought I'd ring her on Saturday afternoon. I think I thought it'd impress her or something.
Now you're probably thinking "this sounds like a 'high' so far," but it turns out that on Friday night she got really pissed at a party and made out with half of the room. This isn't hugely out of character and I've been expecting it to happen sooner or later, but it was just at a bad time- I'm miles from home and don't want anyone else but her.
In some ways, it's cool, 'cos now I feel justified in getting with other people, but I don't wanna just get with someone in retaliation- it's not helping anyone if I try to hurt her back. Besides anything, I don't quite understand how that would work- I wouldn't be loving that person; I'd just be using them to get at Steph, which isn't what I'm about and there's no love there at all, just comfort.
So that's the deal. I'm hurting and it's just me and God sorting this one out. We're doing ok at the moment, but it's gonna take a while to get used to her getting with other people.
FWIW, she said she loves me before I hung up. Then again, I said it first.
