Yesterday:

I got about the best night's sleep I've had in a month. Between just not sleeping properly, the heat and being pretty busy, it's just not been happening.

I nearly got struck by lightning. Instead of the normal flash.... rumble you get, I got a flaBANG!- like a big, loud camera flash- and the house alarm across the road from us went off... must've been pretty close. Another one a coupla minutes later sounded like it hit something... can't be sure, though.

I think the static must've frazzled Mum and Dad's modem, though. Mine did funny things for a minute or two, but I re-booted and it was fine. Theirs (8 year old 33.6K) didn't seem to fair so well and seems to be moribund. A U.S.Robotics 56K(upgrade!) Serial External Modem is in the post to them as we speak.

I bought myself a case of red wine and even after reading the small print, I reckon I've got a good chance of getting over to Carolina Sending off the coupon in a few minutes.

This morning:

I took delivery of

a wireless internet card for the multitude of places that seem to have it these days, specifically including the library at the uni I'm going to in Sweden, which will be cool Seems a bit weird having it, seeing as I don't actually have wireless at home, but it will have uses!

and a 256MB SD card for my Digicam, which means:

I can now take about 274 pics instead of 17 without having to delete anything

I can take about 15-16mins film, which should be amply enough for a full-length home sex movie, with time for us to get dressed and finish the pizza on the end of it...
