I only recently got back onto AIM-- no one really uses it in the UK, and apart from a few people from SG and a couple of other people who also have MSN anyway, there's only one person I really ever speak to on there, and I hadn't seen her online since I'd re-installed the programme anyway.
A couple of nights ago, this particular friend sent me an IM to say hi and we ended up chatting for a while, catching up on what had been going on in each other's lives. Once upon a time I really liked her and I was kinda pissed we didn't get together; now a bit of time has passed, I still think she's cute as hell, but I don't think we'd have worked out anyway. Nice to feel I've grown wiser. Nonetheless, she's flitting backwards and forwards between LA and her home in Davis and seemed keen to hang out when I mentioned a plan I'm working on to spend Thanksgiving in CA this year.
Last night it suddenly occurred to me that one of my friends has the means to get me cheap tickets with a nice airline too, so this plan is starting to take shape I'm so excited about it (and I need a holiday so much!) that I almost want it to be November already, but unfortunately I still need the time to get the funds together! Still, it's something nice and warm to think about while your hands are burning, scraping ice off your windscreen at 8am...
