I was given a ticket to see a band I'd never heard before last night-- the Pipettes.
They owe a lot to Motown, the Shangrilas, etc., both in their music and in their being a girlie trio with dance moves, but their band also has a punk/ska edge. Pretty cool. Honestly, I probably wouldn't listen to the CD (taking a glance at my burgeoning collection, I couldn't promise not to buy it, though!), but they were pretty cool live. Especially with a beer in your hand! smile

In other news, I'm still unemployed. I've sent my CV off to a couple of places and they've put me on hold. My friend Chris asked me if I'd cover on reception at his office tomorrow and I agreed, but I don't know how much money I'll make out of it.
My agency called me first thing this morning and offered me a paid job as a janitor at a college for a couple of days too, but seeing as I'd already committed to helping Chris out, I turned it down.
I need work soon, though-- Mrs. Lego's coming over in 5 weeks and I need money to hang out with her, and to spend 5 nights in Amsterdam!

Yeah I think being an office receptionist is much better than a janitor hehe.

Yea, spring break is a terrible terrible time. John Travolta spent a lot of time here while he was filming Domestic Disturbance here. While they were filming it, Vince Vaughn and Steve Buscemi got into a crucial bar fight at my bar (firebelly) and Buscemi got stabbed in the neck. There's a lot of movies and stuff filmed here and its cool sometimes except when they have half of downtown closed off and I have to go to school.

Oh ya.. and I loooove the phone.. lol
