So this week:

I finally passed my driving test-- first time, I hasten to say-- with only 9 minors. 9 minor errors, that is-- I wasn't driving a minibus with a small group of children in the back. There was a little incident involving queuing up behind a parked car, but I didn't lose any marks for it.

Having decided that I wanted to quit my job, I left it long enough that they told me I didn't get the permanent position anyway. No one could quite understand why I was so calm about losing my job! wink
I have 2 weeks left, which is nice, because I don't have a lot of money now, so I could do with as much work as I can get.

In a strange twist, I applied for a job at my old university. When I finished my exams, it was my ideal job. Now I've settled back in London, it doesn't seem so ideal. I'm hoping to go for an interview and see how things feel.

On Wed I had the pleasant experience of being fined for not having a ticket on the train. Ridiculous. I had queued up to get a ticket from one of the machines at my local station (big queueing person, me) and then they stopped working. The staff came out and told us to pay at our destination, so being as I was running a bit late for a birthday dinner, I complied. I get to the other end and ask to buy a ticket and then get fined 20 because if I'd waited in another queue for about an hour (I'm not that big a fan of queuing!) I could have bought a ticket before I left. Fortunately, they have an appeals process, which I intend to make full use of.

So that was my week. Who knows what next week will hold?

Remember that scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Indiana Jones gets in a fight with the Nazi guy and throws him out of the window? He then says to the stunned crowd "No ticket" and then everyone pulls out their tickets as fast as they can haha.
