today i was out of the office all day and in a conference for women that was at the crowne plaza-union square in san francisco. my nerves were a wreck driving through the city, as i'm still not used to driving there. the most fun part of today was lunch. i spent it at union square, eating my meager sammitch... and with 45 mins left to go til i had to get back... i actually just sat and looked around, which is something i haven't done in a long time.

i saw the sun trying to peek out from behind the dark clouds... a mom watching her son rolling around on a 3-wheeled scooter zooming past a guy stretching in the middle of the square - stretching exhibitionisticaly... checking out who's watching him stretch.... and the urban outfitter guy walking his black collie..... and the pigeon squeaking next to my foot asking for a piece of my sammitch bread.... then the impecabbly dressed man in a blue suit with tight ass-hugging slacks... and the man still stretching to his heart's desire.... then the cable cars screeching to a halt at the red light.. then there's the man on the bench next to me eating his lunch and listening to his ipod. then i realized it must've been time to get back and i raced back up the hill to get back to the conference.
