I did, actually. While it was mired with politics which I didn't want to be a part of, they has state-of-the-art equipment, and facilities. It helped me to hone my skills as a writer, and taught me a lot about filmmaking through experience.

Segregation was rascism. Even though segregation was 50 years ago, and 50 years might seem like a long time, it's only 2 generations removed. So today's black children's grandparents were the ones that suffered through segregation. And the best predictor as to what an individuals's education and income levels will be is what their parents's education and income levels are. So if your grandparents were poor and uneducation, the chances of you being poor and uneducated are pretty high.

People ask well then how many generations will it take before blacks stop using the after effects of segregation as an excuse for being poor? I think if we keep voting people like Bush into office then probably never. It's interesting to note that according to MSNBC exit polls, 88% of blacks voted for Kerry and in 2000 90% voted for Gore.

So I don't view giving blacks a fair chance at a job after years of not giving them an "equal opportunity" as rascism.

A lot of republicans say though that it's not fair to them that they are forced to give their tax dollars over to "charity" programs like welfare. Like you said, not all things in life are fair.

Even though it's debatable as to whether or not affirmative action or welfare programs are fair for everyone, I think the government isn't doing nearly enough to improve the black poverty problem.
