So I've been learning about music production and engineering and mixing and whatnot, and can I just say that being able to recognise clipping and overcooking on albums which have been mixed at a higher volume has ruined what little ability I had left to appreciate mainstream music. It's like when I learned to recognise, and subsequently HATE, autotune, except that it's fucking EVERYWHERE.
