This pisses me off.
Old law, new tricks, and yet - it's so easily done. I'm sorry - I don't care what party you voted for, but you've got to be kicking yourself right now if you voted for Bush. I don't give a crap about your fiscal policy, or even your views on abortion, but focusing effort/money on this type of a crusade is ridiculous, especially with the natural disasters/wars/poverty/crime/terrorism going on in this country. Fucking porn? Get over your damn self!
And the scary part, the part that concerns me the most - everyone thinks that the Supreme Court will stop this - everyone thinks that eventually a case will rise through the ranks and the new interpretation will be struck down.
But the Surpeme Court can choose simply to NOT hear this case. They can determine that they've already decided this issue. And now that lovely Bush gets to appoint a few justices alongside the already uber conservatives packing the court, it could be a reality that they DON'T want to interpret this because they like what's going on.
I pray that life-tenure has convinces some of these justices to see this crap for what it really is - and make the right decision - it's the 1st Amendment for pete's sake. Fucking let us use it the way it's intended to be used.
