Rest in peace my little buddy, I love you so much!
I had to make the decision to put him out of pain and set him free, yesterday morning at 10:10am.
It started in his liver... then his organs started failing. He faught it for weeks like a little warrior, but his body just couldn't do it anymore. The last few days when he came out of hiding he kept gazing into my eyes for the longest time, I knew what he was trying to tell me. He had enough.
I know most of you feel like pets are part of the family, they're not just animals. When they go they take a little peice of you with them and leave a void nothing else can fill. You miss their unconditional love.
I got Rocky and his sister Snowy (who I had to put to sleep when she was 2 and a half) a few months after moving to the US. He has always been there, by my side. He was the sweetest, cuddliest, most gentle cat I had met. All my friends that met him fell in love. He loved belly rubs and to be cradled, he loved squishing his head up against mine and getting as close as possible. Even his male vet was heartbroken and his eyes were welling up when it was time. He said he is the best patient he has had.
I had 8 amazing years with you Rocky, thank you for everything. You will always be in my heart. I am relieved now you are at peace, but I miss you so much. It wasn't long enough, but I am grateful you ended up being mine <3
His feeding tube scar healed into a perfectly shaped heart! I plan on getting that exact heart tattooed on me soon. Call me ridiculous, but I discovered it the morning before he passed and I think it means something. Well, it means something to me anyway.

I'm a mess right now, I'm glad I have an outlet here, and I just want everyone to know what a great little guy he was. So many times he stopped me from feeling so, so lonely. Now he's gone, that's exactly how I feel.

And darling, I am sorry about your little love.
And the tattoo doesn't sound silly AT ALL. I'm getting my very first two pitbulls tatted on me, in homage to the fact that both left me when I needed the unconditional love and compassion that only your best animal friends can give you.
