tonight was all about rediscovering how AWESOME the guitar solo in "i could have lied" by RHCP is. as my pal was saying tonight "this solo is so early 90's LA" (actually he said "this is so paladins" but what does that mean to anyone?). i have to agree.

john frusciante is amazing, even with the heroin recluse years. i seriously burst into tears when i heard that he had quit the band. i was a teenage RHCP whore. and i was elated when i found out he re-joined. navarro is an excellent guitarist but he was never right for RHCP - too dark.

that said, if you have a copy of blood sugar sex magick languishing on your shelf, put your pride away and fucking listen to it again. it's so good!

other than that i have been listening to pinkerton nonstop, thanks to a certain gentleman from providence RI, and i just got the vinyl AND the cd version of "magnolia electic co" by songs:ohia. when i took my purchases up to the register i realized i have become one of those music nerds who buys the vinyl and the cd. actually i think i became that a few years ago.

in other news, i'm flying to new york tomorrow and i'll be there for about a month with very sporadic internet access. so, i cannot be depended on to do any of the following:

- answer your help request (someone else will tho, don't worry!)
- zot that girl who is fucking your ex and called you a bitch in your journal (wait, i wouldn't have zotted her anyway!)
- update my journal
- ever send that cd of the david rees interview to keith
- edit any "where is maxxine" posts to say "whore is maxxine" instead
- etc
