Im still moody as hell but certain people are doing a good job cheering me up so thank you!!
Stick to talking about music..easier all round.
Memorable* Concerts Ive been to: (*no real order and doesnt mean to say they were the best)
1. Morrissey - Wembley Arena
First real concert I went to. Dad dragged me to a Michael Jackson concert when I was about 14. I still haven't forgiven him.
Wembley Arena is a souless arena but it was exciting as hell even though Moz was in his worst creative form of his life. Kill Uncle album anyone? Thought not..
2. Stone Roses/Manic Street Preachers - Wembley Arena
It was the Manics first concert back after Richey went AWOL and they wanted to do a support slot to ease back into playing live. Its the law that 95% of support bands are irritatingly poor but getting two of my fave bands in one night was Xmas and birthday in one.
3. Bjork - Shepherd's Bush
It wasnt the first time Id seen her play live (yeah fucking Wembley Arena) but she did a really interesting set. It was a fanclub-only gig (yes, I AM that sad thankyouverymuch) and I took my girlfriend of 5 years along to it. At the time was head was all over the place as I was starting to like another girl at work and for some ungodly reason I decided to tell her I wanted to end the relationship about two-thirds into the concert.
Ive never seen anyone as upset as I saw her that night. We walked back to the car and she was uncontrollable. I switched the stereo on and No Doubt's "Don't Speak" blasted out..oh shit. I didnt break up with her and we recovered the relationship. I couldnt listen to that song for 2 years, I would literally turn it off..until she dumped me for my best friend and I nicked her No Doubt album off her.
4. The Sundays - some church in North London
Id seem them before but its not often you get to see heroes in such an intimate environment. I was in the front row and shook hands with all the band. Cool.
5. Avril Lavigne - Brixton Academy
I will get crucified for this. I actually like her debut album, yeah its pop-crud but everyone needs musical McDonalds sometimes. I went on my own (you don't say..?) and decided I was going to get right down the front. I remember jumping around during something dreadful, feeling like a demented uncle to these kids and wondering what the fuck I was doing..
